If the hero’s journey has been victorious, he may be reluctant to return to the ordinary world of his prior life.

Holiday season is officially here but it feels weird because of the weather. It’s still hot and muggy. Things feel the same and different at the same time. It’s reminiscent of the airport lounge atmosphere.
I know where I’m going but it’s this pause to be embraced at the moment. The ordinary world of my prior life wasn’t comfortable or safe but it was familiar and I don’t want to return to that. I’ve tasted the fear and apprehension of newness and I want more.
Next year, I’m teaching more first time courses and making some new plans in my personal life.
